Christian J. Baker, In Memoriam

Christian J. Baker, In Memoriam

The Kean University Foundation mourns the recent loss of Christian J. Baker, a long-term supporter and friend of the Kean University Foundation who served as a member of the Board of Directors from 2000-2014.

As a member of the board, Chris not only could be counted on to support both the Golf Outing and the University Gala, but he also assisted in reviewing student scholarship applications each year.

William Miller, CEO of the Kean University Foundation, said the Foundation "would be remiss if we did not acknowledge Chris' untimely passing."

Chris was always known to be a loyal and steadfast supporter. In addition to his board service, Chris was recognized as a member of the Kean Medallion Society and the President's Council. "Although I didn't have the opportunity to know Chris personally, I can certainly attest to his committed service as a member of the board of directors, as well as his loyal and ongoing support over the years," Miller said.

During his time as a member of the board, Chris was a partner at Print Tech, a commercial printing and direct mail company which has evolved into a full-service marketing solutions provider in Springfield, New Jersey.

Chris was an avid golfer and attended the Kean University Foundation's golf outing each year. It was initially through his support of the golf outing that Chris became further involved as a member of the Kean University Foundation Board of Directors.

Chris was born in Sussex, England. He earned his B.S. degree in biology with a focus on endocrinology from Tufts University and his MBA in marketing from the University of California at Berkeley. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Josephine Baker, and their son, Alexander.
